Overview:
- In-person
- San Diego
- Part-time or Full Time M-F (between 7am -4pm)
- $44 -$48/hour
- Start Date: ASAP
Responsibilities:
- Manage the care of students with chronic health conditions (e.g., asthma, diabetes) by coordinating with healthcare providers, teachers, and parents.
- Monitor and manage immunization records to ensure compliance with state regulations
- Provide first aid and emergency care for injuries or sudden illnesses
- Develop and implement emergency response plans and drills.
- Maintain accurate and confidential health records
- Communicate with parents regarding their child's health status, concerns, and recommended follow-up care
- Conduct health screenings and assessments to identify potential health issues and provide recommendations for treatment.
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for long periods of time
- Potential need to frequently bend, crouch, and lift (up to 40 pounds)
Qualifications:
- Current Bachelor of Nursing (BSN)
- Current Credentialed School Nurse License from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC)
- Audiometry Certification
- Knowledge of medical terminology and the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and other school staff.
- Experience working in an inpatient or urgent care setting.
- Ability to assess patients and administer medications as needed.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems.
- Experience working in a school setting or with children.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
- Current negative TB result
Education:
- Bachelor's (Preferred)
Experience:
- Nursing: 2 years (Preferred)
- School experience: 1 year (Preferred)
