Ro Health supports Black Lives Matter

We There is no denying the long-standing history of injustice toward the Black people in our country. We have a lot of work to do in the fight for social justice, equality and equitable treatment. We at Ro Health support the Black Lives Matter movement. We all must be better, and we are committed to doing our part as allies and advocates for our black employees, patients and families. To us, this means promoting Racial Equity, Inclusion and Diversity within our company, pledging to become lifelong learners and have on-going conversations around these issues. Here are some of the steps we are taking to promote those ideals within our company.

Current Initiatives around Inclusion and Diversity

  • Ro Health’s Inclusion and Change Committee: A group of cross-sectional employees that meets weekly and is empowered by Corporate Leadership to take action, create change, review policies and champion initiatives.
  • Tracking Diversity among leadership roles, reviewing the results regularly and identifying steps we can take to increase the number of women and people of color in leadership roles.
  • Continuous Review of Hiring and Management Practices for Bias or Inequity.
  • Training for employees, managers and HR leaders that includes Diversity and Inclusion, Empathy, Microaggressions, Identifying and Reporting Discrimination and Managing Diverse Teams.
  • Recognizing and celebrating the different backgrounds of our team members during daily teams calls, shared calendars and team events.

Current Initiatives toward Equitable Access

  • Expanding resources to attract and retain a diverse workforce. Our initial efforts include removing college degree requirements for entry-level positions and expanding our tuition reimbursement program.
  • Promoting environments where people can bring their whole selves to work and have safe spaces for people to feel heard, share experiences and be valued for their contributions.
  • Standardized and transparent goal setting and promotion processes

We will continue these conversations and identify actions we can take.  In addition to weekly meetings by the Inclusion and Change Committee, we are holding bi-weekly discussions among Corporate Leadership. Our Executive Team reviews and discusses feedback from employees, initiatives from the Inclusion and Change committee and continues to educate themselves around issues involving race. We are committed to listening and learning from the experiences of our employees, patients and clients.
