Jacksonville School Health Lead Nurse

Are you a skilled and compassionate RN with a strong school nursing background ready to step into a leadership role? Ro Health is seeking a School Health Lead Nurse to support our school-based nursing program in Jacksonville and the surrounding areas. In this role, you'll conduct site visits, provide hands-on clinical oversight, and play a key part in shaping the experience and support our nurses receive – drawing on your firsthand knowledge of what great school nursing looks like in practice.

Overview

• Location: Jacksonville, NC (candidates based outside Jacksonville should be open to traveling all through Jacksonville and Wilmington as needed)
• Status: Part Time
• Compensation: $35-42/hr, depending on experience
• Expected hours: School Hours – Flexible schedule between 7am-5pm

Responsibilities

• Conduct employee Tuberculosis Risk Assessments (TBRAs).
• Provide per diem clinical coverage as needed based on regional needs.
• Conduct school site visits as requested by the Clinical Supervisor or Area Manager, except where contractual requirements specify that visits must be completed by a Clinical Supervisor.
• Conduct provider orientations and skills training under the supervision of the Clinical Supervisor, as needed throughout the year.
• Provide clinical guidance and support to providers within the scope of assigned responsibilities and under the direction of the Clinical Supervisor. 
• Assist the Clinical Supervisor with annual provider skills training.
• Maintain ongoing communication with the Clinical Supervisor and Area Manager to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
• Attend required meetings as directed by the Clinical Supervisor or Area Manager.
• Perform other clinical support duties as assigned by the Clinical Supervisor or Area Manager.

Qualifications

• Current RN license and any state-required credentials for the tasks assigned
• Preferred previous school nursing experience
• Demonstrates strong pediatric nursing skills
• Demonstrates an interest in developing effective clinical training skills 
• Demonstrates an interest in clinical advancement within the company

Preferred skills

• Medication administration in school settings
• G-tube care and feeding
• Catheterization experience
• Tracheostomy care
• Behavioral health or special education support
• Experience with seizure disorders or diabetes management
