Job Overview

As an LPN with RoHealth, you will provide direct care to a student with specific medical needs during school hours. This is a one-on-one position where you’ll have the chance to build a meaningful, supportive relationship with your patient, ensuring their safety, comfort, and health throughout the school day.

Responsibilities:

As a 1:1 Licensed Practical Nurse specializing in pediatric care, you will:

• Conduct health assessments and provide medical care to students as needed.
• Administer medications and treatments following physician orders and state regulations.
• Monitor and record vital signs, symptoms, and medical history.
• Assist students with chronic illnesses in managing their conditions while at school.
• Provide first aid and immediate care for injuries or sudden illnesses.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, school counselors, and administrators to ensure students' well-being.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations in all health-related matters.
• Participate in emergency drills and crisis intervention when necessary.

To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications:

• Current License Practical Nurse license in the state of Virginia.
• Pediatric nursing experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Compassion and empathy for working with children and their families.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced school environment.
• BLS and First Aid certification.
